Holiday Hosting Prep: Getting Your Luxury Home Ready for Guests

A timed checklist for preparing your luxury home for holiday hosting — what to clean when, what to delegate, and how to manage the day-of.

Two Weeks Before

Schedule a deep clean for 7-10 days before the event. Replace HVAC filters. Inspect guest bathrooms — fresh hand towels, soap, toilet paper, candles. Polish silver and table service if entertaining formally. Confirm vendor schedules: florist, caterer, valet, additional cleaning staff for day-of.

Three Days Before

Window cleaning interior and exterior — guests notice. Patio and outdoor entertainment areas pressure-washed if used. Pool deck cleaned. Driveway and walkways swept. Front door and entry deep-cleaned (first impression). Pendant lights dusted and bulbs replaced.

The Day Before and Day Of

Day before: maintenance clean of high-traffic areas — kitchen, guest bathrooms, foyer, dining room. Replace all flowers. Stage guest amenities. Day of: 2-3 hour touch-up clean by your regular team in the 4 hours before guests arrive. Final mirror polish, final bathroom check, final kitchen reset.

After the Party

Schedule a full deep clean for the next morning. Wine spills on carpet and upholstery should be addressed within 24 hours by a professional.
